This person appears almost human despite a bluish-gray tinge to its skin, snow-white hair and the tiny horns above the brows. The figure is clad in a cloak or robe and carries a light mace.
A dryllabus is a strange being, obviously a planetouched descending from the dabus, the caretakers of Sigil, the City of Doors. But since the dabus do not procreate in a natural way, let alone intermingle with mortal races, their exact origin remains a mystery. Graybeards speculate that they occur due to some accident at the creation of a new dabus, since almost all dryllabuses have been found as infants deposited on the doorstep of an orphanage or a family’s house, usually with a note attached written in rebus form, pleading the finders to take care of the babe. Thus, practically all dryllabuses grow up within humanoid families, taking on the mentality and mannerisms of the community surrounding them, with the tendency to speak only rarely and a preference for robe- or cloak-like clothing the only personality traits all dryllabuses have in common. Dabus asked about dryllabuses, if their rebus answers are interpreted correctly, typically answer: “They are not like us and not suited to our tasks. They shall find their own fates, like we are unable to do.” A typical dryllabus stands about as tall as a human, but is of slightly lighter build. Its skin is light-gray to bluish-gray, its hair white to ivory-toned, and its eyes yellow, green, or reddish. Dryllabuses speak Common plus one other language, but are generally rather taciturn.
CombatDryllabuses are generally peaceful and usually behave in a non-aggressive manner. To defend themselves, they make good use of their silent image ability, aiming for a chance to escape or hide. Silent Image (Sp): At will, a dryllabus can conjure up a silent image, equivalent to that of a 2nd-level caster. Light Step (Su): A dryllabus’ feet seem to barely touch the ground due to some innate magic. He gains a +2 racial bonus to Balance and Move Silently checks as long as this ability is in effect, and his weight and that of his gear carried is effectively halved with regard to the ground bearing him (making it possible for him to cross floors that wouldn’t otherwise carry his weight, or to not trigger certain traps). This ability does not affect the dryllabus’ carrying capacity in any way nor the force that must be used to actually move, carry or transport him. A dryllabus takes damage from a fall as if it was 10 ft. lower. Natural Linguistics (Ex): A dryllabus has got an intimate understanding of languages, allowing him to always treat Speak Language as a class skill Skills: A dryllabus gains a +2 racial bonus Gather Information and Knowledge (local) checks, since he finds it easy to get attuned to the society and locality he lives in.
The dryllabus warrior presented here had the following ability scores before adding racial adjustments: Str 13, Dex 11, Con 12, Int 10, Wis 9, Cha 8 Dryllabus NPCs encountered are more likely to be experts than commoners. Dryllabuses as Characters
